Hot Chocolate

Have the best-ever instant—but made from scratch—hot chocolate when you keep Chocolate Mix on hand.

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Mix
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar, optional
  • pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • mini marshmallows, for serving


  1. Combine the milk, chocolate mix, sugar if using, cinnamon and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring just to a simmer, stirring. Pour into two mugs, top with marshmallows and serve.

NOTE: Once you’ve made the basic version, try some of these variations: Chili Chocolate: add a pinch of ground chipotle and a pinch of chili powder Almond Chocolate: substitute unsweetened almond milk and add 1/8 teaspoon of almond extract.
